Rose originally came from Wamphray in Dumfries. When she, and her new husband Robert Guy, moved in to their home as a new build in November 1938 he very romantically named the holding Wamphray Croft in her honour.

Robert and Rose had 2 sons, George and Thomas.

The holding was a bustling business loved by the whole family. Thomas took on the market garden duties of the holding full time in 1965.

Thomas (Tom) and his wife Catherine (Cathy) became the second generation of Guys to raise their family of 5 children here on the holding. Tom balanced an HGV driving job with cereal crop growing and had a love of tractors.

From an early age Andrew and his siblings were taught all about life on the holding. In his later years, Tom asked Andrew to consider taking the family holding on into its third generation.

In 2017 Andrew and I relocated, leaving our town life behind and moving into the countryside. We have a fair amount of work ahead of us as we endeavour to make our family home a viable property for the 21st century.

We are proud to be creating a safe, tranquil and happy place to be for a further generation of Guys.
